What is the DMCA?
The DMCA is a U.S. copyright law that provides guidelines for online service providers like Bumen to address claims of copyright infringement. It’s designed to protect the rights of content creators while also offering a framework for resolving disputes. In simpler terms, it’s the law that helps us take down content that shouldn’t be here.
Reporting Copyright Infringement
If you believe that your copyrighted work has been used or shared on Bumen without your permission, you can file a DMCA takedown notice. Here’s what you need to include in your notice:
- Your Contact Information:
- Your full name, address, phone number, and email address. We need to know how to reach you.
- Identification of the Copyrighted Work:
- Clearly describe the work you own that has been infringed. If it’s a game, provide the title, version, and any other relevant details. If it’s other content (like images, videos, or text), describe it thoroughly.
- Location of the Infringing Material:
- Provide the exact URL(s) where the infringing material is located on our site. The more specific you are, the faster we can act.
- A Statement of Good Faith:
- A declaration that you believe, in good faith, that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A Statement of Accuracy:
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
- Your Signature:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or someone authorized to act on their behalf.

What Happens Next?
Once we receive a valid DMCA notice, we will:
- Review the claim promptly (we’re not fans of delays).
- Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material.
- Notify the user who posted the content about the takedown.
- Provide the user with an opportunity to file a counter-notice if they believe the takedown was a mistake.
Counter-Notices
If you’re a user and you believe your content was wrongly removed, you can file a counter-notice. Your counter-notice must include:
- Your contact information.
- Identification of the removed material and its location before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your consent to the jurisdiction of a federal court in your area (if in the U.S.) and your acceptance of service of process from the person who filed the original DMCA notice.
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the removed material within 10-14 business days unless the original claimant files a legal action against you.
Repeat Infringers
We have a zero-tolerance policy for repeat infringers. If a user repeatedly posts infringing content, we will terminate their access to Bumen. No exceptions.
